THIS IS WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE WHEN DOVES CRY

Look up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a…

On Saturday, May 28 the Saints will take-off with a promotion as the first 1,500 fans will receive a stuffed angry bird wearing a football helmet presented by Walser. Whether it’s Tweety, Woodstock, Woody Woodpecker or Toucan Sam, this giveaway promotes “safety first” especially when it comes to our feathered friends, some of which have Bank’ed in the wrong direction to their demise.

Based on the popular phone app and soon to be summer movie, the Saints want to protect birds that may mimic their cartoonish counterparts by aimlessly launching themselves towards oversized, glass doors causing concussions or worse.  Fans coming through the gates on May 28may be angry enough about the disregard of our fowl friends they may turn purple.  The Saints will help by handing out a stuffed angry bird, complete with a purple helmet, to the first 1,500 fans.

While the Saints realize not every bird can be saved, a touching moment is planned at the May 28 game for those less fortunate birds that may have traveled too close to the light.  During each inning a white dove will be released into the sky as a tribute to fallen friends.

One half inning will be dedicated to an in memoriam piece on the video board for those birds that have left us too soon, including Flappy Birds, Mark “The Bird” Fidrych and Mel Blanc.

The Saints take on the Kansas City T-Bones at 7:05 p.m. that night, which will make any vultures overhead dive bomb with glee.

Saints tickets continue to be a tremendous value.  Tickets begin at $5 for berm seating (available only on day of game in person at the box office), $6 for bleacher seats, $12 for the drink rail, $14 for outfield reserved, $16 for infield reserved and $18 for home plate reserved.  Friday Home Games with Post-Game Fireworks are an additional $2 per ticket.  Post-Game Fireworks Supershows (May 29, July 4 and September 4) are an additional $3 per ticket.  Tickets purchased on the day of the game are an additional $2 per ticket.  Children under the age of 12 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price.  Children under 2 that don’t require a seat are free.
