Max Kepler homered for the first time in 25 games. Brian Dozier hit his 13th home run this month, more than anyone in Twins history has except Harmon Killebrew.
But it didn’t matter to either of them as the Cleveland Indians handed Minnesota its 13th consecutive loss, this time by a score of 8-4.
“I’ll be relieved when we get a win,” Kepler told the Star Tribune. “[It doesn’t matter] when one guy hits a homer. I just want a win.”
“Same as last night,” Dozier told the Star Tribune. “It’s just another loss.”
A 5-run fifth inning ultimately did the Twins in. Pat Dean was gone after giving up six earned runs in 4.1 innings pitched. J.T. Chargois gave up another; too much for Minnesota to overcome, even though they were able to muster three runs in the final two frames.
“It’s been a long week,” Twins manager Paul Molitor told the Pioneer Press. “We need to try to find a way to win a game at some point to just lighten the load. It’s getting heavy. Guys are getting on the edge a little bit. You can feel it. It’s building.”
