Twins Reach Agreement with Jepsen, Strong

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Kevin Jepsen on a one-year contract, worth $5,312,500 in 2016.

The Twins have now agreed to terms with five of their six arbitration eligible players for the 2016 season, having yet to agree to terms with infielder Trevor Plouffe.

Additionally, the Twins have claimed left-handed pitcher Mike Strong from the Miami Marlins. Strong had spent his entire career in the Milwaukee Brewers organization prior to being claimed off waivers by the Marlins on December 7, 2015.

The Afton, MN native and Stillwater High School graduate was originally selected by Milwaukee in the 10th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Oklahoma State University.

To make room for Strong on the 40-man roster the Twins have designated left-handed pitcher Logan Darnell for release or assignment.
