Twins to Select Contract of Albers (Update)

The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they plan to select the contract of left-handed pitcher Andrew Albers from Triple-A Rochester for the second game of tomorrow’s split double header vs. the Houston Astros.  Albers made 19 starts for Rochester this season, going 9-5 with a 3.51 ERA (112.2 IP, 44 ER), 28 walks and 72 strikeouts.

Albers made 10 starts with the Twins in 2013, going 2-5 with a 4.05 ERA (60.0 IP, 27 ER), one complete game, seven walks and 25 strikeouts.  He will wear uniform number 58.

Update (8/11, 4:15pm)

The Twins announced that they have put Buddy Boshers on the 15-day disabled list and have put Albers on the 25-man roster.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed left-handed pitcher Buddy Boshers on the 15-day disabled list with left elbow inflammation. Boshers appeared in 24 games for the Twins this season, going 2-0 with a 5.84 ERA (24.2 IP, 16 ER), four walks and 24 strikeouts.
