The Senior Bowl flew by in typical fashion, ripping through three valuable days of practice that will be a vital tool in the NFL’s pre draft process when evaluating the 110 players in attendance.
During the three practices and six sessions in total it was clear that Alabama tight end OJ Howard was the best overall player in attendance, a rare feat for a player of his position. In fact, the tight end position as a whole was one of the deepest groups from top to bottom and, picked up the slack of an average at best wide receiver unit.
After Thursday’s final practice I caught up with Steeler writers Jon Ledyard of Inside The Pylon and Alex Kozora of Steelers Depot for to get their thoughts on how the week has shook out thus far.
On the podcast we broke down which Senior Bowl players make the most sense for the Steelers to draft in April. First however, we narrowed down the positions of greatest need for the team, which was an edge rusher, tight end, and inside cornerback. To finish the show, us three toasted picks in a Senior Bowl only mock draft, using just players in attendance for available options.
