Courtney Cronin, Minnesota Vikings reporter for ESPN, reported Sunday that head coach Mike Zimmer “anticipates” that Sam Bradford will start on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.

Sam Bradford has only started one game for the Vikings this season, though it was an incredible outing — earning a 143.0 passer rating on three touchdowns and 346 yards with no interceptions on 32 attempts.

While that outing was against a soft Saints defense, the Vikings and their fans hope that he can get close to replicating that performance for the rest of the year, and the two upcoming divisional games in particular.

Bradford has missed three weeks this season because of a bone bruise, per the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

His replacement, Case Keenum, has been uneven with one stunning performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and two less-than-great games bookending that effort.

Bradford has an incentive beyond just pushing the Vikings to the playoffs — reports are that Teddy Bridgewater may return to the practice field soon.
