Ringer: Diggs Likes Short Shorts

Kevin Clark of The Ringer brings Minnesota Vikings fans breaking news: emerging star receiver Stefon Diggs likes short shorts!

“Receivers typically choose to limit the bulky items they wear because avoiding extra fabric ‘frees you up’ to go as fast as possible, [Diggs] said,” writes Clark. “But that usually means regular workout shorts or tights. Diggs had worn ‘short shorts a lot’ off the field prior to that moment, so he decided to embrace the cut on the field as well.”

His teammates are giving him a hard time, of course.

“His shorts are unreasonable,” fellow receiver Cordarrelle Patterson said at Vikings training camp this summer. “He’s the first guy I’ve ever seen do that on a football field, but you can’t be mad at him, because he’s owning it.”

“I just look at it and say, ‘What is he doing?’” cornerback Captain Munnerlyn told Clark. “This is not going to catch on.”

Even Diggs’ mother gives him a hard time.

“My mom sees it and makes fun of me constantly; she calls me John Stockton,” Diggs told Clark. “Everyone on the team has been making fun of me, so I’m not going to change now.”
