Xs & Os: Jayron Kearse Still Has a Ways to Go

Seventh-round rookie Jayron Kearse was thrust into action during the Minnesota Vikings 21-10 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles after starter Andrew Sendejo went down with an ankle injury.
The Clemson product garnished a lot of buzz during training camp because of his physical nature, standing tall at 6-foot-4, combined with the ability to make big plays. The thought of Kearse developing into the starter next to Harrison Smith was something many fans had hoped would come to fruition by now.
However, up until his injury, Sendejo was playing technically-sound football, making minimal mistakes and even posting two interceptions through just six games. Kearse, on the other hand, is still miles away from being anything more than just a backup in a Mike Zimmer defense that demands trust and error-free football from all 11 of his players.
Luke Inman proves why after breaking down three of Kearse’s plays from Sunday in this edition of X’s & O’s.
