Jonas Brodin Placed on IR

Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Tyler Graovac (pronounced GRAY-oh-vack) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

The team also announced defenseman Jonas Brodin (pronounced JOE-nuhs broh-DEEN) has been placed on Injured Reserve and is expected to miss three-to-six weeks with a broken foot suffered on Feb. 4.

Graovac, 22 (4/27/93), was injured in the Wild’s season-opening 5-4 win at Colorado on Oct. 8, winning 9-of-12 faceoffs and skated a career-high 13:37. The 6-foot-5, 212-pound native of Brampton, Ontario, underwent successful bilateral core muscle repair surgery on Nov. 3 and was activated from Injured Reserve and assigned to Iowa on Dec. 12.

Graovac has collected seven points (2-5=7) and 52 shots on goal in 19 games with Iowa this season. He has skated in four career NHL contests with Minnesota after being selected by the Wild in the seventh round (191st overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Graovac wears sweater No. 44 with Minnesota.

Brodin, 22 (6/12/93), has collected six points (1-5=6) in 50 games with Minnesota this season and ranks third on the team with 72 blocked shots and fourth in TOI/game at 20:22.
