Craig Leipold, owner of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild, officially announced today he will open a restaurant in the historic Minnesota Club at 317 Washington Street which overlooks Rice Park in downtown Saint Paul, the same building where the Minnesota Wild offices are headquartered.

The restaurant will be called Herbie’s On The Park, named after the late Herb Brooks, the legendary Saint Paul native who coached the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey team to a gold medal, often referred to as the “Miracle On Ice.” His brother, Dave Brooks, is the owner and landlord of the building.

Inspired by the legacy of Herb Brooks, Herbie’s on the Park is a quintessential social house with a sense of camaraderie and intrigue. Open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, the 200-seat restaurant will embrace the spirit and ambiance of the original Minnesota Club. Guests can expect an inviting, upscale tavern that will serve as a lively gathering place not only for hockey fans, but for concert and theater goers, as well as convention attendees, downtown visitors and residents. Showcasing nostalgic nods, guests will gather together to celebrate great sips, tastes and neighborly hospitality.

“The historic Minnesota Club is the perfect setting for Herbie’s and I’m thrilled to be able to showcase this beautiful landmark to our fans and guests,” said Craig Leipold, owner and chairman of the Minnesota Wild. “This is a space that should be enjoyed by many and I’m delighted to be able to make that a reality with this new neighborhood destination.”

Herbie’s On The Park will be owned by Leipold and operated and managed by Levy Restaurants, well-regarded for its hospitality expertise, passion for celebrating food and creating memorable guest experiences.
