Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has re-signed restricted free-agent defenseman Zach Palmquist to a one-year, two-way contract ($660,000/$70,000).

Palmquist, 25 (12/9/90), totaled 11 points (4-7=11) in 69 games with the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League (AHL) during his first full professional season in 2015-16. The 6-foot, 187-pound native of South Saint Paul, Minn., totaled three assists in eight games with Iowa in 2014-15 after finishing his senior season at Minnesota State (WCHA).

The blueliner totaled 96 points (25-71=96) in 160 games during four seasons (2011-15) with the Mavericks, never missing a game during his collegiate career to set a school record for consecutive games played. Palmquist was named to the WCHA First All-Star Team in 2015 and 2014 and to the 2015 NCAA West Second All-American Team. He played at South Saint Paul High School and was a finalist for the 2009 Mr. Hockey Award. Palmquist was signed as a free agent by the Wild on March 30, 2015.
