Molesky's Weekend Wagers: Holiday Bets

It is rivalry weekend in college football, the NFL plays multiple games on Thursday, and hoops – both college and pro – go down all weekend. It’s time to line the wallet and grab some extra cash for Black Friday shopping.

My Bets

+14.5 Point Ole’ Miss Spread

  • Ole’ Miss @ Mississippi State

Everyone is high on the Mississippi State Bulldogs after they nearly knocked off Alabama, and now are home for rivalry weekend. But the Ole’ Miss Rebels are averaging 33 points per outing, and the one thing that the Bulldogs continually gave up to Alabama was the deep ball.

Wide receiver A.J. Brown will be able to scare the Bulldogs deep and keep the Rebels in this game because of their ability to stretch a defense. The Rebels average 13.7 yards per completion and 15.7 when getting the ball to Brown. This will be a one-score game.

Cincinnati Money Line

  • Cleveland @ Cincinnati

Come on, they are the Cleveland Browns. Cincinnati Bengals all the way.

Six Point, Two Team Teaser

  • Los Angeles -2 @ Dallas Cowboys
  • Washington Redskins -7 vs. New York Giants

The Thanksgiving slate teaser, grabbing a few of the favorites of the day and throwing them together.

The New York Giants are still a bad team despite last weekend’s win and the Redskins will be at home looking to bounce back. The Chargers are playing a Dallas team in disarray with their best player – left tackle Tyron Smith – either out or at less than 100 percent. The Chargers offense is fresh off a 54-point performance, while the defense can throw Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa. The Chargers are hot, while Washington is playing a truly bad Giants team.

Other Bets

Pittsburgh -14 Point Spread

  • Green Bay Packers @ Pittsburgh Steelers

The Packers have grabbed a win against Chicago with quarterback Aaron Rodgers out, but the Steelers seem to be rolling after rumbling over Tennessee 54-17. The Steelers are home and will be putting up lots of points. On the flip side, the defense is good enough to keep a Brent Hundley offense in check and cover.

Auburn Money Line

  • Alabama Crimson Tide @ Auburn Tigers

Yes, that is right, I am taking the Tigers in a throwback to the kick-six in 2013. Auburn’s front seven held back Georgia’s Sony Michel and Nick Chubb in check while they ran the ball all over a vicious Georgia front on the other side. Alabama is missing all four linebackers and a right tackle, struggling against a mediocre Mississippi State team. Auburn is filled with an in-state rivalry-fueled hate and believe they can beat the Tide. The Pat Dye Field will be rowdy and the Tigers win.

Stanford +2 Point Spread

  • Notre Dame Fighting Irish @ Stanford Cardinal

The Irish have been rocked by Miami, followed by a physical fight with Navy, and now have to head on the road to face the rival Cardinal. The game is basically a pick ’em, with the Cardinal sitting on home field advantage and posses a plus-11 turnover margin to the Irish’s plus-eight. Bryce Love is also a difference-maker, hurt or healthy, and will be an impact player.
