Molesky's Weekend Wagers: Premier League Bets?

That is right folks, this weekend we are rolling with NBA, college and pro football along with Premier League soccer. After some hot basketball lines from the previous column, time to go big or go home: This weekend is heavy favorites.

Good luck, all.

My Bets

Taking Manchester United (+208), Manchester City (-204) and Tottenham (-381) On A Moneyline Parlay – This week, we’re starting out with a hot soccer parlay. Man City, Man United and Tottenham are the top three teams in the Premier League. Each of them have double digit goal differentials this season, with offenses that tear up opponents. Both Manchester squads have been rolling all season, while Tottenham plays last place Crystal Palace. Take these teams to do what they have been doing all season long, win.

Taking Tottenham On The -1.5 Point Spread – Doubling down on the Tottenham Hotspurs is a great bet because Crystal Palace has a -17 goal differential this season. With one Premier League win, the worst team in the league should be easy work for Spurs.

Taking The Stanford (+110) Money Line – The real bet here is whether Stanford Cardinal running back Bryce Love will play, as he is currently a game time decision. Whether he plays are not, the Cardinal defense will create an edge for the offense. Safety Justin Reid has five picks this season, second best in college. Meanwhile, linebacker Peter Kalambayi ranks fourth in college with nine sacks. The defense has studs around their All-Star players as well, like corner Quenton Meeks and defensive lineman Dylan Jackson,  PAC-12 standouts at their positions. The defense will overpower a Washington State team that has been sliding, losing two of their last three.

Taking Orlando Magic (-345), Philadelphia Eagles (-345), Memphis Tigers (-530) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-575) On A Parlay – This is the favorite happy slate for the safe gambler. If you do not like to take many risks or – like me – put plenty of cash out there and need one sure bet, this is the one for you. From the NBA, to the NFL, to NCAA football, these are some of the best teams to take on the money line. The teams they play? The Chicago Bulls, Denver Broncos, Tulsa Golden Hurricanes and Wake Forest Demon Deacons are not a group of world-beaters, to say the least.

Taking New Orleans (-190) and Houston (-350) Money Lines Parlayed With The Boston +5.5 Point Spread – Here is the all-NBA bet, with great bets in the Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans, who play teams with a combined 2-14 record. The Boston Celtics, however, have a much tougher task against Oklahoma City on the road. While Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have both over-performed this season, they are in for a difficult matchup trying to handle the OKC trio of Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. The Celtics spread is the bet with the money lines.

Taking Clemson (-300), Georgia Tech (-380), Auburn (-660) and Texas Tech (-150) Moneylines Parlayed With The Under On 48.5 point in Alabama vs. LSU Game – This is the big NCAA football parlay of the weekend, with some very good favorites lined up. The two tight bets are Texas Tech and the Alabama under. The Texas Tech Red Raiders play the Kansas State Wildcats, with both teams averaging over 30 points every time they take the field. The edge is the Red Raiders quarterback Nic Shimonek, who has 2,663 passing yards with 27 scores this season. On the other side, the Wildcats quarterback Jesse Ertz has only tossed for 930 yards, failing to give the Wildcats enough firepower to keep pace with the Red Raiders. As for the under on Alabama vs. LSU, the last three games between the two have resulted in games under 48 points. Both teams have had struggles on offense against really stout defense and both play conservative ground in pound football in college’s premier rivalry. All of this leads to a solid NCAA parlay.

Other Bets

Taking Detroit (-135) Money Line – The Detroit Lions looked great, until they entered the red zone against Pittsburgh. However, betting against Green Bay may just be the move all season long after quarterback Aaron Rodgers injury. The offense was so dependent on his improvisational skills, so bouncing back and finding a rhythm is going to be a particularly tall task for the offense.
