It’s another huge weekend for the Minnesota Gophers as they host Michigan at The Barn at 6 p.m. Sunday evening. Minnesota’s won four in a row; Michigan’s won three in a row and is coming off a huge home win over Wisconsin.
We’re 11 days from the start of March, which means tournament speculation is heating up. But head coach Richard Pitino isn’t fazed by the team’s upcoming milestone of reaching 20 regular season wins.
The Wolverines are a sharp-shooting team that gets contributions from big men D.J. Wilson and Moritz Wagner on the perimeter. The two are shooting 42 and 39 percent, respectively, from 3-point range. Gophers center Reggie Lynch spoke about guarding the Michigan bigs and hopes to get a chance at another 3-point block. (He claimed to have two so far this season.)
The Gophers have played six Big Ten games at home this season, and all but one have come down to the final minute. There have been four overtime sessions and three one-possession games. Lynch addressed the wild stretch of finishes at Williams Arena.
