As the dust has settled on the Vikings 2017 draft class additions, the countdown to Mankato begins. In my newest mini-series I evaluate each pick as we break down the tape on all 11 Vikings draft acquisitions.
We’ll be focusing on what each player can bring to the table and, more importantly, what they have to do to stand out in training camp for a chance at making the tight-knit Vikings ship that has room for just a few more soldiers inside its 53-man capacity.

The journey continues with former Virginia Tech standout Bucky Hodges. This playmaker comes into the league technically as a tight end. However, he is far more polished and natural as a receiver. A raw yet smooth athlete, Hodges has the height, weight and speed to be a playmaker once again in the NFL, carrying the momentum of his 20 touchdowns in three seasons from college over to the pros.
