NFL DRAFT: Luke Inman & J.R. Mock Draft 3.0 (Round 2)

33) Cleveland Browns: Maurice Hurst, Defensive Line, Michigan (Inman)

A red flag regarding a mild heart condition will send Hurst down the boards. But when healthy and on the field, you won’t find a more disruptive pass rushing interior talent pound for pound. A crazy value to slide next to last year’s first overall pick Myles Garrett. This combo is downright scary.

34) New York Giants: Ronald Jones II, Running Back, USC (JR)

David Gettleman continues the offensive overhaul, pairing Rosen with a home-run threat in Jones in the backfield. Giving the Giants a promising young offensive core.

35) Cleveland Browns (From Texans): Orlando Brown, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma (Inman)

Another player with combine red flags, but for different reasons. Brown struggled during any portion of the movement drills in Indy, looking sluggish and downright lethargic. However, watch the tape, and you’ll see a monster of a man who can swallow up and bulldoze players. In a league desperate for good offensive line play, Brown is far too good to pass up at this point and will give the Browns the eventual Joe Thomas replacement as he learns the nuances in the NFL at RT his rookie year.

36) Indianapolis Colts: Billy Price, Offensive Line, Ohio State (JR)

Protecting Andrew Luck needs to be made a priority. Despite his pectoral injury, Price is an option at guard to pair with Ryan Kelly, giving the team a solid interior offensive line for years to come.

37) New York Jets: Courtland Sutton, Wide Receiver, SMU (Inman)

You’ve got your franchise quarterback. Now it’s time to surround him with the talent and help to develop and succeed. This big bodied target will help bail out Mayfield in jump-ball situations and become a go-to target down in the red zone when the windows get tight. This could be a deadly combo for years to come.

38) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Arden Key, EDGE, LSU (JR)

The Bucs had the fewest sacks a season ago. They desperately need help. Key is a troubled prospect, but the Bucs elect to take a leap of faith with the talented pass-rusher.

39) Chicago Bears: Anthony Miller, Wide Receiver, Memphis (Inman)

The Bears continue to add weapons on both sides of the passing game with the quick-footed Miller. While he may never be a true No. 1 weapon, Miller offers a safe target to Trubisky who can always get open and be dependable in the short and intermediate routes.

40) Denver Broncos: Malik Jefferson, Linebacker, Texas (JR)

Jefferson’s traits are off the charts, but there are some question marks on if could play middle linebacker. Adding him to a unit that already has Von Miller would be a plus.

41) Oakland Raiders: Mike Hughes, Cornerback, UCF (Inman)

The Raiders continue to bolster an already solid defense with two outstanding players. In a loaded cornerback class, they steal Hughes here and finally find a true shutdown boundary man coverage cornerback to pair with Gareon Conley and Karl Joseph oozing with talent.

42) Miami Dolphins: Isaiah Oliver, Cornerback, Colorado (JR)

Adding Oliver to Cordrea Tankersley and Xavien Howard finally gives the Dolphins the reliable young secondary that they’ve been searching for.

43) New England (From 49ers): Kolton Miller, Offensive Tackle, UCLA (Inman)

Keep an eye on Miller as he’s risen up draft boards during the pre-draft process. With Nate Solder’s status in flux, the Patriots have no choice but to do everything they can to keep Tom Brady clean in the pocket during his final run.

44) Washington Redskins: Christian Kirk, Wide Receiver, Texas A&M (JR)

A bit of a slip for Kirk, but he falls into the perfect situation — a team lacking weapons and in dire need of pass catchers for newly-acquired QB Alex Smith.

45) Green Bay Packers: Sony Michel, Running Back, Georgia (Inman)

While running back isn’t on the radar of many Packer fans, they should be ecstatic to steal a talent like Michel here. After the success of Alvin Kamara, you’ll see Michel lined up all over the field and help Aaron Rodgers get back to producing big plays on a weekly basis.

46) Cincinnati Bengals: Sam Hubbard, Defensive End, Ohio State (JR)

With Michael Johnson and Carlos Dunlap showing signs of aging, Hubbard restocks the deck and alongside Carl Lawson gives the team a plethora of young pass rushers.

47) Arizona Cardinals: Frank Ragnow, Center, Arkansas (Inman)

Outside of quarterback, the Cardinals aren’t far away on paper. After adding the most dominant nose tackle to come out in the last few years, the front office continues to bolster the trenches, now on the offensive side of the ball. Ragnow will slip because of an injury-riddled season, but had he not gotten hurt, you’d hear about him as a legitimate first-round pick.

48) LA Chargers: Mason Rudolph, Quarterback, Oklahoma State (JR)

Reviews are mixed about Rudolph, but the Chargers need to find the heir apparent to Philip Rivers. Rudolph provides a nice project to sit behind the veteran until he hangs his cleats up.

49) NY Jets (From Seahawks): Harrison Phillips, Defensive Tackle, Stanford (Inman)

The Jets quickly went from a star-studded cast on the interior to needing help after losing Sheldon Richardson and Mo Wilkerson. Phillips and his wrestling background can flat out dominant with his 27 tackles for loss and endless motor. Line him up next to Leonard Williams and watch this weakness snap back to a strength for Todd Bowles once again.

50) Dallas Cowboys: Derick Nnadi, Nose Tackle, FSU (JR)

The Cowboys defensive line got pushed around quite a bit last year. Rod Marinelli wants the team to get back to their identity of playing tough, hard-nosed football. Nnadi is an anchor up the middle.

51) Detroit Lions: Nathan Sheppard, Defensive Tackle, Fort Hays State (Inman)

The Lions are starting a new era with defensive-minded Matt Patricia, who will immediately look to bring in a certain toughness and players who fit his scheme. Sheppard has stripped the “small” school label by now as people have seen him dominate down at the Senior Bowl and now during a solid week of combine drills.

52) Baltimore Ravens: Mike Gesicki, Tight End, Penn State (JR)

Surrounding Joe Flacco with as many weapons as possible should be the objective of the Ravens entire offseason. Gesicki is an athletic freak who lit up the NFL Combine.

53) Buffalo Bills: Carlton Davis, Cornerback, Auburn (Inman)

The Bills have major holes to fill but also have serious ammo, making this a critical draft. Davis is a smashmouth press corner who loves to play physical. Pairing him across from last year’s stud rookie Tre White gives the team an outstanding young duo on the boundary of their defense.

54) Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Sweat, Defensive End, FSU (JR)

Justin Houston is getting a bit long in the tooth. With not many options after him, Sweat is the young pass rusher with tremendous upside that the Chiefs sorely need

55) Carolina Panthers: Alex Cappa, Offensive Tackle, Humbolt State (Inman)

I fell in love with Cappa from his first rep down in Mobile and have not shied away since. Cappa will be undoubtedly plucked in the first 60 picks in a league desperate for more solid offensive line play. This addition gives the Panthers more versatility for the future, as Cappa could wind up being able to play up to four different positions.

56) Buffalo Bills (From Rams): Kyle Lauletta, Quarterback, Richmond (JR)

Tyrod Taylor isn’t in the teams long-term plans. Peterman wasn’t what they expected to be and in turn, they elect to bring in immediate competition in Lauletta.

57) Tennessee Titans: Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, EDGE, Oklahoma (Inman)

The Titans continue to bolster a steadily improving roster after stealing a playoff game last season. Okoronkwo gives the Titans a fresh and explosive pass rush burst off the edge to help the ever-aging Brian Orakpo and Derek Morgan stay fresh.

58) Atlanta Falcons: Ronnie Harrison, Safety, Alabama (JR)

An absolute steal at this point in the draft. Dan Quinn gets his alpha dog and tone-setter to complete his secondary alongside Keanu Neal.

59) San Francisco 49ers (From Saints): Auden Tate, Wide Receiver, FSU (Inman)

Lynch continues to find weapons for his new franchise signal-caller. After bolstering his protection with Nelson, he now finds a big-bodied target that has the potential to become a No. 1 wideout on the roster for Jimmy Garoppolo for years to come.

60) Pittsburgh Steelers: Lorenzo Carter, EDGE, Georgia (JR)

Another Seminole taken off the board. Carter is a huge upside pick, but at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, running a 4.5 40, he’s worth the pick here in the second round.

61) Jacksonville Jaguars: Chukwuma Okorafor, Offensive Line, Western Michigan (Inman)

While the Jaguars offensive line overachieved, I still don’t trust all five to pan out another season. It may seem like a luxury pick now, but Okorafor has outstanding upside and could overtake someone as a rookie while offering good depth.

62) Minnesota Vikings: Austin Corbett, Offensive Line, Nevada (JR)

A true value pick. The Vikings come away with another pick in the trenches. Adding Corbett, who has the flexibility to play all five positions up front is huge.

63) New England Patriots: MJ Stewart, Cornerback, North Carolina (Inman)

I’ve gone on record saying how deep this cornerback position is and Stewart is near the top of the second tier. A bigger bodied physical cornerback at over six foot and 200 pounds, Belichick will love this new feisty defensive back to replace Devin McCourty.

64) Cleveland Browns (From Eagles): Donte Jackson, Cornerback, LSU (JR)

The Browns have addressed lots of their needs and positioned themselves to take the best player available on their board. Jackson is a luxury pick and is a plug and play nickel corner.
