Billy Price capped a storied Ohio State career by winning the Rimington Award as a senior, given annually to the nation’s best center. His former teammate, current Vikings center Pat Elflein, won the award the previous season.
Price played guard for three seasons before switching to center and started 55 consecutive games dating back to his freshman year. He was selected as an All-American after his junior and senior seasons.
Price’s offseason took a bad turn, however, when he partially tore his pectoral during the bench press at the combine, which could plummet him toward the bottom of the first round, if not out completely. If a team, maybe Minnesota at Pick 30, believes Price will make a successful recovery, it may jump at the chance to select him if he remains available late in the first.
