Danny Etling, QB, LSU

Though stellar running games often required Danny Etling to be simply a game manager at LSU, it’s impossible to deny he was pretty efficient in 2017 with 16 touchdowns and two interceptions.

Etling spent his first two college seasons in the Big Ten with Purdue before becoming the starter at LSU, where he had much better seasons. Remarkably, Etling delivered his 2017 season after having back surgery the previous spring. Also remarkable: Both coaches who recruited Etling to Purdue and LSU, respectively, were fired before Etling could play there.

His arm strength might be lacking, but Etling’s perseverance can’t be questioned.
