Despite missing most of his sophomore season at Florida State with a meniscus injury, Derwin James rebuilt his stock quickly with a brilliant junior season – ignoring the Seminoles’ poor record — that has him in position to be a top-10 pick.

James, a safety, made 5.5 tackles for loss last season with two interceptions and 84 total tackles.

Pro Football Focus graded him as the top overall college safety in 2017 thanks to his ability to cover, rush and defend the run. His 6-foot-3, 210-pound build will almost make him seem like another outside linebacker when he plays in the box.
