REPORTS: Vikings Finalizing a Trade with Denver Broncos for QB Trevor Siemian

According to multiple reports, the Minnesota Vikings are finalizing a trade with the Denver Broncos for quarterback Trevor Siemian.

The Vikings, who may end up receiving a hefty amount of compensatory draft picks for 2019, rarely trade future picks. In this case, Minnesota — who, unusually, have very few draft picks in 2018 — seemingly are willing to stock up in this year’s draft if possible and are fine trading future assets to that end.

Siemian has started 24 games for the Denver Broncos despite being a seventh-round pick. He has a career passer rating of 79.9, though last year in particular was a disaster. He fell from a 3.8 percentage touchdown rate to 3.4, doubled his interception rate from 2.1 percent to 4.0, and dropped his yards per attempt from 7.0 to 6.5.

Still, his career numbers look surprisingly similar to Case Keenum’s before arriving in Minnesota.
