Brian Burns, 20, profiles as athletic edge rusher who would thrive in a 3-4 scheme. He compiled 23 sacks in three seasons with the Seminoles, fifth best in program history, and packed the stat sheet with six forced fumbles and seven pass breakups as well. Moves extremely well, as his 40-time demonstrates, but being slightly undersized, he might have trouble absorbing blocks or defending the run. Earned First Team All-ACC honors in 2018, and his age gives him all sorts of upside.

Size

What the analysts say

“Long, thin pass-rush specialist who possesses elite get-off and stride length to simply outrun overmatched tackles around the rush arc and into the backfield. Burns’ edge speed and varied rush approach should translate to the league, but his skinny frame and lack of play strength are absolutely concerns moving forward.” – Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

“Brian Burns is a special prospect with dynamic range, explosive qualities and terrific length/polish as a pass rusher. Burns brings one of the finest pass rushing skill sets to the table in recent years and his explosiveness and developed hand usage should help him provide his team with impact pass rush from day one. Burns would be well served to fill out his frame to be a more well-rounded player but he’s got game-changing qualities.” – Kyle Crabbs, The Draft Network
