Never enjoying a massive workload, Devine Ozigbo was merely a part of Nebraska’s platoon rushing attack until breaking through in 2018. After struggling through 2017 with a paltry 3.8 yards per carry, Ozigbo got in better shape and nearly doubled his yards per attempt, hopping up to 7.0 as a senior and rushing for over 1,000 yards, seventh best in the Big Ten. Ozigbo did not get a combine invite but showed well at his Pro Day with a 4.54 40 and 37-inch vertical. He possesses a thick frame that made him tough to bring down in college, but he wasn’t as strong a pass-blocker as he should have been. If whatever clicked for him in 2018 can be bottled, he has late-round value.

What the scouts say

“Intriguing, one-year wonder with size and speed to catch the attention of NFL evaluators. Ozigbo is an explosive, downhill runner with adequate vision and above-average power, but he’s a one-speed runner who might need a more nuanced approach on the next level. Ozigbo’s senior tape and impressive traits could be enough to land a role as an NFL backup.” – Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

“Devine Ozigbo remodeled his body entering the 2018 CFB season and enjoyed a career season. If able to sustain his current playing condition, Ozigbo could be a bargain buy for an NFL franchise looking to implement a blend of power and lateral quickness into their backfield. Ozibgo thrived in zone rushing concepts at Nebraska under coach Scott Frost, he showed strong anticipation and vision pressing the line of scrimmage to find gaps and secondary cuts.” – Kyle Crabbs, The Draft Network
