Might be the draft’s pick top if not for a core injury that ended his junior season in Week 3. As is, Nick Bosa, 21, could still be one of the top three defensive linemen off the board. Produced as a freshman and a sophomore at Ohio State and registered one sack or more in the last six collegiate games he played in. All-Big Ten as a sophomore when he notched 8.5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss. Brother Joey was the third pick in the 2016 draft and plays for the Los Angeles Chargers. Their father was also an NFL player for the Miami Dolphins.

What the analysts say

“High-motor defensive end prospect possessing NFL play strength on a well-muscled, compact frame. Bosa uses forward lean, smart hands and impressive upper-body power to pry open edges against the run and pass. He can defeat single blocks and fits as an end in both 4-3 and 3-4 fronts with the ability to reduce inside as a rusher. His lack of fluidity in space could prevent him from becoming an elite rusher, but he understands how to play and should become an early starter and future Pro Bowler.” – Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

“Perhaps the phrase “can’t miss prospect” is an overused one that should be thrown out, but if we were to use it, Nick Bosa makes sense as the subject. All the physical traits are there to succeed as well as the athletic ones, and his polish and pass rush repertoire is rare for a player straight out of college.” – Jon Ledyard, The Draft Network
