NFL (2 units) 2 Team 6 Point Teaser; Rams -2, 49ers -2 (-120): 12 PM CT, 7:20 PM CT
Ladies and gentlemen, we made it. NFL Sunday is upon us and what better way to start it out than to fade two horrible teams on a tease? The Matt Stafford-led Los Angeles Rams start their promising season at home against a Chicago Bears team that just feels like they’re waiting for an excuse to start Justin Fields in place of Andy Dalton. That process begins today with the Rams getting an easy win at home.
As for the 49ers, this team is actually good with some quarterback play and a healthy defense. But let’s be honest, this pick is more about how bad the Detriot Lions are. I feel sorry for Jared Goff in what is his first experience of not having Sean McVay in his ear. A West Coast teaser should be an easy winner on this glorious NFL Sunday.
NFL (1 unit) Minnesota Vikings -3 @ Cincinnati Bengals (-110): 12 PM CT on Fox
I know this seems like a little hometown bias but trust me, it’s not. If you listen to my podcast, you know I’m a huge Dallas Cowboys fan but I can’t lie when I say this spread doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. The Minnesota Vikings are much healthier than they were last year, and I just don’t see the Cincinnati Bengals being ready to compete in one of the best divisions in football.
The road factor is big here, but I’m still comfortable rolling with the Vikings in what should be a relatively comfortable Week 1 win for Kirk Cousins and the boys.
NFL (1 unit) Jacksonville Jaguars -3 @ Houston Texans (-110): 12 PM CT on CBS
It’s only Week 1, and I could be very wrong, but I’m going to keep this simple. The Houston Texans are a dumpster fire and it’s only going to get worse with no Deshaun Watson. This team is the least recognizable in football and for good reason: they aren’t any good. A rookie quarterback starting for Jacksonville isn’t exactly something I would usually count on but Trevor Lawrence is a poised QB who should be ready to go against what I’m thinking is going to be another lousy team in Houston.
