AJ Hawk Tips Hand On Aaron Rodgers Future

The NFL rumor mill is a powerful machine. Between so-called insiders, national talking heads with their own agendas, organization’s front offices, and players agents it can be almost impossible to find truth in any narrative.

There is no better example of this than the Aaron Rodgers drama. The entire offseason was filled with people who swore up and down that they knew the way number 12 felt, and what the future held. The truth is very few do. But, if you really pay attention and look hard enough, you can sometimes find one of those people.

When it comes to Rodgers and the Packers, the person to pay attention to is AJ Hawk. The co-host of the Pat McAfee Show and former Green Bay Packer has for years clearly had an inside track on Rodgers thoughts and motivations. As everyone was picking out trade partners in the offseason, Hawk was right in his assessment that the Green Bay situation could be fixed. Now as we enter the stretch run of the NFL season he is once again speaking, and once again likely right.

On a recent episode of their show, after McAfee gave Brian Gutekunst some much-deserved due for the current Packers roster, Hawk stated that he believes Aaron’s future is in Green Bay. “I don’t see a better setup for Aaron Rodgers than in Green Bay.. I feel like everything is there for them to make a run at it for the next few years.” Hawk Said.

It’s not an insanely grabby or noteworthy quote, but Hawk isn’t in the business of splashy, noteworthy quotes. The former linebacker has never been one to come out and divulge the exact specifics of the private conversations he has with Rodgers. What he does, is simply lay out the quarterback’s current mindset. A mindset that he is usually right on the money in understanding due to their relationship. If I were a betting man, and the odds were available, AJ Hawk’s tip would be enough for me to put all my money on an Aaron Rodgers extension in Green Bay.
