It’s been a roller-coaster week for Green Bay Packers fans. Fresh off the Aaron Rodgers vaccine circus it was reported early in the week that Green Bay was the front-runner for the services of recently-released Odell Beckham Jr.

Insiders everywhere continued to tweet steam as Davante Adams took to the podium and revealed he had been personally lobbying Beckham to come to Title Town. It seemed as though the Last Dance was about to get a whole lot more interesting.

But then, instead of signing immediately upon his clearance of waivers, Beckham chose to take a few days to make his decision. Other suitors emerged. As teams put together their bids, the Packers were reported to have offered the veteran minimum. Next thing you know NFL’s Network’s Ian Rapoport was revealing thqt Beckham signed a one-year deal that would pay him $1.25 million for the rest of the season and allow him to earn up to $3 million more in incentives depending on how the team finishes in the postseason. NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, citing sources, believes it was this “disrespectful” approach by Mark Murphy that cost the packers.

If what he says is true Packer nation has every reason to be furious. The entire source of this past offseason’s drama was Rodgers feelings towards the front office and their lack of effort in doing enough to put a winner on the field. This was so simple. You had the money, the coach was on board, the players were on board, the free agent star was on board and you still blew it? Not getting Odell Beckham Jr. in the middle of the season certainly isn’t going to tank the Packers chances, but knowing he wanted to be in Green Bay and you let him go to one of the NFC’s top competitors sure as hell isn’t going to help.
