As I said yesterday, the D-Backs started the season strong and have since begun to fade mainly because of poor pitching. Pair that with Dylan Bundy on the mound for the Twins today, and this total of 9 feels very low. As a matter of fact, the two starting pitchers in this game have a combined WHIP of 3.64, or as we like to call it in the industry “not good.”
I’m still surprised the Twins couldn’t put up more than 2 runs last night against Madison Bumgarner, especially after a lead-off home run by Byron Buxton, but that’s baseball. I expect their offense to bounce back in a big way tonight against the rusty Luke Weaver. I would roll with the Twins here, but as I mentioned before, I simply don’t trust Bundy, so the over seems like the better pick to me in what should be a desert shoot-out.
