We are down to just baseball today, and sometimes that makes for the best days of sports betting. Today is not one of those days. With most games starting too early today to get a pick posted, I had to get a little creative. When I see an under below 8, I automatically assume that aces are on the mound for both teams, which surprisingly isn’t the case here.
Logan Gilbert has been great for the Mariners, which makes sense given this number of 7.5, but let’s look at the other side for a second. Kenny Rosenberg is on the mound for Los Angeles and he brings his 1.67 WHIP with him. When I looked a little deeper into his numbers, I realized he only has 6 MLB innings pitched and an ERA of 7.50. That alone made this pick feel like it was meant to be, so I’m rolling with it despite the recent offensive struggles of both these teams.

Usually, when I lock a baseball game it mostly has to do with the starting pitcher matchup. This game is an exception. I actually like Merrill Kelly for the Diamondbacks. And Chris Archer has been steady for the Twins when called upon. But when Archer is on the mound, it usually means the bullpen will be involved early. That explains the odds for today’s game.
Despite all that, this Twins lineup is simply too deep to be a pick ‘em against a mediocre Diamondbacks team. The Twins easily won Game 2 to even this series last night, and I see more of the same happening today in the rubber match.
