NCAA Football (0.5 Unit) TCU -13.5 @ Colorado (-110): 9:00 PM CT on ESPN
This is among the biggest line moves over the summer, seeing TCU rise from 7.5 point favorites at the open to here. Most of that was sharp money over the course of a couple of months before the public got involved more recently, and I’m rolling with the steam here. There’s some bad football being played in the PAC-12, and Colorado is in quite the battle for the basement with Arizona. The biggest weakness is on offense, where there isn’t much in the way of skill position talent.
While the Buffaloes have a semi-functional defense, they’re up against a serious juggernaut with the TCU offense. New coach Sonny Dykes is an offensive mastermind and has talent galore to play with in his first season with the Horned Frogs. There’s a trio of big-play receivers returning, the running back room is loaded, and the experience of quarterback Max Duggan should maximize the points. I’m sure Dykes will want to make a statement in his first game, and TCU should easily pull away from a Colorado team that doesn’t have the offense to keep up.
MLB (0.5 Unit) Boston Red Sox/Texas Rangers Over 9 (-110): 6:10 PM CT
This was a last-minute addition, so I’m going to have to be brief. Fenway is a hitter-friendly ballpark, and the Red Sox are going against a pitcher in Dallas Keuchel, who has struggled all year in a huge way, with a WHIP over 2. This is a low number for two teams that have gone over it in 7 of their last 10 games with better pitching than what we will see today.
