Steven A Smith took a long slow deep breath, something you almost never see the overly performative sports personality do, as he prepared to respond to Mad Dog Russo’s assertion that Kirk Cousins far too often receives an unfair amount of blame for his team’s poor performance.
“Where can I begin?” an exasperated Smith stated as Marcus Spears giggled in the background.
What followed was a nearly five-minute evisceration of the concept that Kirk Cousins is a great quarterback.
The man who has divided the Viking fan base for the past few years didn’t do anything to change that in his first primetime appearance of the season. With a new coach in place and a ton of weapons opinions like Smith’s will grow louder and louder if Kirk continues to have bad moments.
