If college basketball has taught us anything this weekend it’s that even though unders aren’t glamorous, they can be very profitable. Although this isn’t a college game I think 235 is simply too high for a game that has meaning for both teams. The Suns rank 23rd in the league in pace and 20th in points per game so I expect this game to be played somewhat at their pace keeping the total under this inflated number.
NCAA Basketball (.75 Unit) Baylor -1.5 Vs Creighton (-110; Odds via Caesars): 6 PM CT on TBS
In a weekend of upsets and disappointments, this could be another one of those unforeseen traps but I’m going to take my chances. The Big 12 has been the best conference in the country all year long and I don’t see Creighton being able to keep up with the athleticism of this Bears team. If this spread was over 4 I would be worried but I trust Baylor to take care of business on their way to another Sweet 16.
Bonus Bet (.5 Unit) Baylor/Creighton Under 146 (-110; Odds via Caesars):
At first glance, this game looks like a game between two high-scoring, lethal offenses. But let’s take a deeper look. Neither team here is in the top 100 in the country in pace. As a matter of fact, Baylor isn’t even in the top 200 coming in at 212th. And although both teams average in the mid 70’s on offense, Baylor has managed to allow only 56 points per game while Creighton has allowed just 63 points per game. Like I said with the Suns game, I just think this number is too high so although it’s not the most fun pick, I’m rolling with the under.
