Andy Reid Has No Idea Who Jordan Love Is

The annual owners meetings in Arizona present local beat writers a unique opportunity. The men and women who spend all their time focused on a single team have access to each of the NFL’s organizations.

During Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid’s media session the legendary coach was caught off guard when asked a Jordan Love question by a member of the Packers media.

“What did you think about Jordan Love in that game that he played against you two years ago?” a reporter asked the Chiefs leader. “Who’s that?” Reid responded. The reporter repeated “Jordan Love.” Reid sat with a blank stare on his face and said, “I’m trying to remember Jordan Love.”

Love’s only career start came against Reid’s Chiefs in November 2021 after Rogers tested positive for COVID-19. The Packer youngster went 19 of his 34 passes for 190 yards, a touchdown and a pick.

There was no malice in Reid’s response. It’s important to remember that NFL head coaches are busy worrying about their own organization, not memorizing the back ups of all 32 NFL teams. It was simply a funny moment for fans and another moment they can add fuel to Jordan Love’s tank. As Pat McAfee and his boys have said time and time again, none of this is Jordan Love’s fault. Green Bay’s new starting quarterback will have every reason to have a giant chip on his shoulder, heading into his first year as a starter.
