A dominant MAC talent, Maxx Crosby is one of the most intriguing non-power-conference prospects in the draft. Had 18.5 sacks and eight forced fumbles over his sophomore and junior seasons before going pro. May need to get in an NFL weight room for a season to fill out his frame. Possesses great quickness but not as much strength (didn’t bench at the NFL Combine). Finished top 20 in pass-rush productivity and run-stop percentage, per PFF.

Size

6-5, 255 pounds

Combine notables

40-yard dash: 4.66 seconds
Vertical: 36 inches (T6th at position)
Broad jump: 122 inches (T5th at position)
3-cone drill: 6.89 seconds (2nd at position)
20-yard shuttle: 4.13 seconds (2nd at position)

What the analysts say

“Developmental, long-limbed defensive end who needs a year or two of bulking up before he’s ready to see the field. He’s long and flexible and will flash on tape as both a rusher and run defender and those traits could outweigh his poor contact balance and play strength for some teams. If he grows into his gangly frame, Crosby offers a higher ceiling than some Day 3 prospects he could be lumped in with.” – Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

“Maxx Crosby has several intriguing traits that will make him a prospect worth investing in. Crosby’s length and sense of hand usage allow him to play with finesse in space and defeat blocks prior to first contact. Yet Crosby’s frame has ample room to grow and his lack of power elements are problematic once he’s challenged at the POA. Crosby lacks high end physical tools, will need to add mass to further flesh out his game.” – Kyle Crabbs, The Draft Network

What PFF says

-13th in pass-rush productivity
-19th in run-stop percentage
