Twins-White Sox Postponed Wednesday Night

The Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins game scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Wednesday evening has been postponed due to rain.

The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader on Aug. 21 at Guaranteed Rate Field. The first game will begin at 4:10 p.m., with the second beginning at 7:10 p.m. or 30 minutes after the final out of the first game — but no sooner than the originally scheduled time.

We should find out soon what this means for the Twins rotation, but it most likely means each pitcher will be pushed back a day, with Phil Hughes taking the ball Thursday in the series finale with Nick Tepesch bumped back to Friday against Cleveland. With an off-day slated for Monday, the Twins won’t need a fifth starter until Saturday, May 20.

UPDATE: Apparently the Twins do not view Wilk as a starter:

Additionally, the Twins have sent right-handed pitcher Drew Rucinski back to Triple-A Rochester to make room for recently-claimed lefty Adam Wilk.

That game will be against the Kansas City Royals at Target Field. Keep it with Zone Coverage for any updates.
