BIG PICTURE
Despite being one of the smallest corners in the draft, Amik Robertson has used his tenacity to build a strong resume. He exits his three-year Louisiana Tech career with 14 interception, 34 passes defended and three pick sixes. He allowed a QB passer rating below 60 each of his last two seasons and may even sneak into Day 2 of the draft thanks to his ball-hawking coverage skills. His size will always be a limitation and his tackling skills leave something to be desired, but he reportedly ran a 4.45 40-yard dash time virtually after missing the NFL Combine due to an injury.

Lance Zierlein, NFL.com: “Smallish, outside corner with tremendous intensity, swagger and toughness. Needs to handle the athletic challenges as a slot corner in the NFL. He gives rough rides to receivers trying to get away from his press before following it with route recognition and footwork to continue hounding his man. Physicality overtakes technique at times and he could struggle to mirror the release of savvy NFL slot receivers. The instincts and ball skills are rare and should translate to this level of competition in zone and man as long as he can shadow routes. Teams may worry about his size, but run support will not be a concern and Robertson could become a starting nickel as a Day 3 selection.”
Kyle Crabbs, Draft Network: “Amik Robertson projects as a nickel corner who, in a zone heavy defensive system, has the ability to be a high impact ball hunter in the secondary. It is easy to appreciate Robertson’s ball skills and anticipation in the secondary, although his lack of size will limit him from playing consistent press against TEs or WRs on the boundary. Robertson has the foot quickness to transition into pattern match and swoop to attack the football — but his usage on the outside should still be sparing at best.”
