Adrian Peterson Named FedEx Ground Player of the Year

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has been named the FedEx Ground Player of the Year after posting a league-leading 1,485 yards and 11 rushing TDs, marking the fifth time in his nine NFL seasons he has won the award.

Peterson was named the FedEX Ground Player of the Week twice during the 2015 campaign, following the Vikings 30-14 win over the Oakland Raiders in which he rushed for 203 yards on 26 attempts including an 80-yard rushing score and again following Minnesota’s 20-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons where he rushed for 158 yards on 29 carries and two scores.

The Palestine, Texas, native has won the NFL rushing title three times (‘08, ’12, ’15) in his nine year career. Peterson ranks 17th on the NFL’s all-time rushing list with 11,675 career rushing yards (4.9 yards per rush) and has recorded 97 rushing TDs.

The six-time Pro Bowler has been named the FedEx Ground player of the year five times following the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2015 seasons and won 16 FedEx Ground Player of the Week awards.
