Vikings Sign LB Travis Lewis

The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they have signed Travis Lewis.

Lewis signs with the Vikings after spending the first 4 seasons of his career with the Detroit Lions. He has appeared in 42 games including 4 starts, all of which came during the 2015 season.

Originally drafted by the Lions in the 7th round (223rd overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft, Lewis played primarily on special teams in Detroit, recording 19 special teams tackles in 4 seasons.

The San Antonio, Texas native saw his first extensive action on defense in 2015, adding 13 tackles, 1.0 sack, 1 QB pressure and 2 TFLs in 15 appearances (4 starts).

The 5th-year linebacker was a 4-year starter at Oklahoma, where he became the first player in school history to lead the team in tackles 4 straight seasons.
