Twins Place Danny Santana on DL; Recall Max Kepler

The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they have placed outfielder/infielder Danny Santana on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.

Santana suffered the injury fielding a fly-ball in centerfield in the sixth inning tonight at Kansas City.

To replace Santana on the 25-man roster, the Twins will recall outfielder Max Kepler from Triple-A Rochester.  The German-born outfielder was the 2015 recipient of the Sherry Robertson Award for Twins Minor League Player of the Year.

Kepler appeared in three games for the Twins in 2015, going 1-for-7 (.143). Additionally, he was named 2015 Southern League Most Valuable Player after hitting .322 (131-for-407) with 32 doubles, 13 triples, nine home runs and 71 RBI in 112 games for the Lookouts.
