4/23 GAME NOTES and HIGHLIGHTS: United earn first MLS shutout, beat Colorado 1-0

Before the struggle was real, but now it’s the improvement that’s real.

Minnesota United managed its first ever cleansheet in Major League Soccer on Sunday evening, holding on to defeat the Colorado Rapids 1-0.

It’s among the most common soccer scorelines but one Minnesota had yet to see on either the winning or losing end. The loss to FC Dallas — 2-0 — was the lowest scoring game the Loons had been a part so far this campaign. Allowing just two goals had also represented the least amount of goals they’ve allowed in a game this season, something they’ve done on four different occasions.

With out further ado, I will let the postgame videos do the talking from this evening’s match at TCF Bank Stadium as all of them are well worth watching.

The games lone goalscorer Miguel Ibarra had a large gathering of media and his teammates teased him ruthlessly as a result. His fellow attacker Johan Venegas also jumped in to help interview his teammate.

Head coach Adrian Heath full post game interview. The Loons have now won two of three matches at home.

Shuttleworth says his healthy and discusses why Minnesota United was finally able to put together a comprehensive defensive performance… oh, and Adrian Heath gives him playful jab mid-interview. “One clean sheet and this is what he gets!?”

Brent Kallman said he was playing it safe, asking for a substitution to not further injure his “tight” hip.
