REPORT: Presumed Starter Alex Boone Released by Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings made waves Saturday afternoon by cutting left guard Alex Boone after just one season in Minnesota, according to Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune.

Boone signed a four-year deal with the Vikings and started at left guard a season ago when the offensive line struggled. He was guaranteed $3.4 million in his second season, making this an expensive cut.

The Vikings rotated Nick Easton in at left guard during the preseason, which will presumably be the team’s plan in Boone’s absence.
