Wild Claim Defenseman Nate Prosser Off Waivers

The Minnesota Wild have announced they have claimed defenseman Nate Prosser off waivers from the St. Louis Blues.

Prosser, 31, is a nine year NHL veteran with eight of the first nine coming in Minnesota. He played in just one game with St. Louis this season before being put on waivers Wednesday morning. Prosser also had a previous stint with St. Louis during the 2014 preseason, but was waived prior to the start of the regular season where Minnesota claimed him.

The Elk River, Minnesota native has tallied 38 points (7 goals-31 assists) in 283 career games. With the Wild’s struggles on the third pair and on the right side of the defense, he figures to get in the lineup frequently once again.

Clearing a roster spot for Prosser was Kyle Quincey, who cleared waivers this morning after being placed there yesterday.

Minnesota returns to game action tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights at 7 PM. Prosser is not likely to be in uniform for that, but could be in Saturday against the Blues.
