Wild Defenseman Matt Dumba Fined $5,000

Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba was fined $5,000 by the NHL Department of Player Safety for squirting water at Winnipeg’s Joel Armia Monday night.

Dumba committed the infraction at the end of the first period during a small scrum that ensued after the horn sounded. He was assessed a two-minute minor to begin the second period.

The Wild went on to lose the game 7-2 to the Jets. They return to action Thursday night against the Las Vegas Golden Knights at the Xcel Energy Center.
