REPORT: John DeFilippo Has Been Fired

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings have parted ways with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo.

This comes on the heels of a near-shutout at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. The Vikings fell to 6-6-1 with a 21-7 loss, their third loss in four games. The team’s offense had seemingly regressed since the bye week, amassing under 300 yards in road losses at Chicago, New England and Seattle.

Rapoport also tweeted that quarterbacks coach Kevin Stefanski would likely be the new playcaller. Stefanski has coached running backs, tight ends and quarterbacks in his time with the Vikings, and he interviewed for the offensive coordinator job last offseason. This will be his first time calling plays.
