For the last time this football season, the Zone Coverage staff got together and give you predictions for Sunday’s Super Bowl from U.S. Bank Stadium.
Super Bowl 52 can be melted down to Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. While the Eagles have the better overall roster, Belichick will figure out the winning scheme and Brady will orchestrate the winning drive. Patriots 31-24 and Brady wins Super Bowl MVP.
Patriots 31, Eagles 24
In reality, I think the Patriots are the better team as evidenced by the point spread — New England by 4.5 last I saw — but I think we’re looking at a tight game with a field goal late deciding it.
Then we’re on to the precious, precious offseason — and baseball season.
Patriots 24, Eagles 23
A great football dynasty comes to an end at the hands of Nick freaking Foles.
Eagles 27, Patriots 20
Much like the NFC Championship game, big game predictions are less about Xs and Os as much as they are about fate. Do the Eagles really think that they can defeat Thomas Manigault Brady in the Super Bowl with a backup quarterback? Any fan base that thinks a backup QB can beat Tom Brady just because they have a good defense and some good receivers is out of their mind.
Tom Brady is the MVP, Tom Brady came from 25 points down in last year’s super bowl, and Tom Brady will win it again. Minnesotans should be honored that they’re hosting what could be Tom Brady’s final Super Bowl.
Patriots 34, Eagles 29
Donovan McNabb, Brian Dawkins and Terrell Owens sneak into the game in other players’ jerseys and get their revenge.
Eagles 28, Patriots 20
Pats 23, Eagles 20
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will indeed Tom Brady and Bill Belichick on Sunday.
