Miguel Sano’s season will start on time, as The Athletic‘s Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the third baseman will not be suspended by MLB for his alleged acts toward a photographer at Ridgedale Mall in 2015.

This comes on the same day that Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Steven Wright was suspended 15 games for a violation of the domestic violence policy.
Ultimately, this feels like a bit of a Friday news dump, but the writing has been on the wall for a while here. The Twins told Erick Aybar — who shares an agent with Sano — that he was not going to be on the Opening Day roster, leaving only Ehire Adrianza as a backup infielder. If Sano was suspended, Adrianza would have been the starting shortstop with Eduardo Escobar moving to third base — leaving no backup infielders on the bench.

What we’re left with is this: We have to hope that MLB left no stone unturned in these investigations, because ultimately, the path to revealing these sorts of things for victims just became that much more difficult. Only two people know the absolute truth of what happened on that day in 2015. That’s a heavy burden to carry — for both.
