Kurt Benkert, QB, Virginia

You might say Kurt Benkert upgraded when he left East Carolina of the AAC for Virginia of the ACC, but he did so under uncertain circumstances. After tearing his ACL before the 2015 season, Benkert thought he’d lost a chance at being a starter.

But he found new life at Virginia, where he quickly became the Cavaliers’ starter and set all sorts of Virginia passing records as a senior as he notched over 3,200 yards. Benkert threw it nearly 40 times a game last year, completing 25 touchdowns with just nine interceptions. His career completion percentage at Virginia was low, however, at under 58 percent.

He possesses an NFL body at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, which should get him a look as a developmental prospect.
