Daylon Mack is another mid-round nose tackle option along with Khalen Saunders, weighing in nearly 340 pounds. Mack was a four-year contributor as a rotational piece of the A&M defensive line. Arguably his best seasons came as a freshman and a senior. His final year, Mack registered 5.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss.
His lack of quickness at the combine and his below-average run-stopping numbers may not help his resume, but teams are always looking for backups at the nose spot with the league trending more towards rotating defensive lines.

What the analysts say
“Mack has been a largely underwhelming player for extended portions of his time at Texas A&M despite lofty expectations coming out of high school. However, he responded well to an off-season coaching staff change and a new defensive coordinator, and his play has helped to resuscitate his draft stock. While he has to prove he can build on his senior season, his mass and anchor could appeal to 3-4 or 4-3 teams looking to shore up the middle of their defense with a plugger in the later rounds.” — Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
“Daylon Mack enjoyed a career revival over the course of the last nine months. Mack was an all-star success story at both Shrine and Senior Bowl week, his natural ability and urgent demeanor were likable qualities. Mack projects best as a 1T in an even front. Mack’s ability to anchor, but subsequently locate and chase the football, are pretty unique to a player of his stature, who can so easily win the point of attack thanks to leverage.” — Kyle Crabbs, The Draft Network
