As one of the top high school players from the state of Missouri, Renell Wren failed to fulfill his four-star expectations at Arizona State. Nonetheless, he may have NFL potential because of his long-armed stature. Didn’t produce much in terms of interior pressure at Arizona State while he played a great deal of nose, generating just three career sacks. Has added some weight, which could make him a nose/3-tech hybrid going forward. Wasn’t given a significant role with the Sun Devils until his senior season, and his per-play production tailed off a bit, particularly against the run.

Wren’s transition to the pros will be complicated: he has the first step of a pass rush threat but very little to follow with if tasked with playing in a penetration role.
