Fantasy Perspective: Colts vs. Titans

I’ll admit that Colts-Titans isn’t the most appetizing matchup. It features one of the teams that I don’t really keep in touch with all year long and another that at times feels like they underperform.

Indianapolis Colts (5-3) at Tennessee Titans (6-2)

Spread: Tennessee -2

O/U: 48.5

MoneyLine: Tennessee -130, Indianapolis +110

I wasn’t big on Indy coming into the year, but I was intrigued by some of the young talent with Jonathan Taylor and Parris Campbell, and I knew there were a couple of young players I would target in long-term dynasty leagues. Tennessee, on the other hand, had some pieces in place that piqued my interest, and some of that applies to this game.

Do we roster Derrick Henry?

I know this seems like a no-brainer, right?

You mean he’s not a lock and load weekly play? Even though he has 843 yards and eight touchdowns, this isn’t a pretty matchup for him. He’s coming off a below-average, disappointing game against the Chicago Bears that might have left a bad taste in peoples’ mouths which might cap ownership.

I understand why people might be nervous to roster him, but let’s not over think it. I’ll find a spot, but I’m not putting him in my captains spot.

Where do we put Ryan Tannehill, and do we stack?

It was a really blah day last week for a lot of the Titans, including Ryan Tannehill, who went 10-21 for 158 yards and two touchdowns vs. Chicago (which is his floor so far this season).

There are concerns about rolling with Tannehill in a tough matchup, but he doesn’t make too many mistakes and there aren’t a lot of high-end players worth considering here. Basically, we were choosing between Tannehill and Henry, and given that the Colts have allowed the fewest rushing yards to RBs this season (496), going with Tannehill seems like the better move.

When it comes to stacking, why not go with a high-reward player who will be a focal point of the offense: A.J. Brown.

He has shown himself to be matchup proof, with solid games against two of the tougher defenses in Chicago and Pittsburgh. He’s a big play waiting to happen, and with a touchdown in five straight games, he’s a safe bet.

For lineup differentiation, you need to be unique in the captain’s spot, and this is where I’m leaning.

What Colts pass catchers do we want?

This is an incredibly unappealing situation, but when you take into account that the Titans pass defense gives up 275 yards a game, we need to attack it — but with whom?

If we want to save some salary, let’s look at Zac Pascal. He’s nothing special, but he’s as primed as anyone to have a solid game against that weak Titans pass defense. I’m not worried that T.Y Hilton may return this week, since it’s very possible he’s limited.

How about TE Trey Burton? He has three touchdowns over his last three games, with no less than four targets per game. Plus it sounds like Jack Doyle will sit this one out and Mo Alie-Cox is questionable.

Might be salary well spent.

Just for giggles

I fully anticipate this could be a low scoring game, so why not throw the kickers out there? Save some salary too.
