JAKE FROMM

HEIGHT/WEIGHT/AGE

6-foot-2
220 pounds
21 years old

BIG PICTURE

After replacing then-Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason, who was injured early in 2017, Jake Fromm turned in a huge statistical next three years for the Bulldogs and nearly won a national championship in 2017. His final line reads 78 touchdowns and 18 interceptions over three seasons with over 8,200 yards. He may struggle shaking a game-manager label, however, and he’ll be further limited by his athletic profile. He was not a mobile quarterback in college, and at the combine he recorded the smallest hands and slowest 40.

COMBINE NOTABLES

8 7/8-inch hands (smallest)
5.01 40-yard dash (worst)
30-inch vertical (5th worst)
111-inch broad jump (4th worst)
7.27 3-cone drill (4th worst)
4.51 20-yard shuttle (T-5th worst)

VIKINGS COMPATIBILITY RANKING

1 out of 5. If the Vikings were to draft a quarterback, wouldn’t it be for somebody more mobile than Kirk Cousins?

HIGHLIGHTS
WHAT DRAFT EXPERTS SAY

Lance Zierlein, NFL.com: “Heady quarterback who is light on physical traits but sees the game like a pro signal-caller most of the time. Fromm has big-game experience and proved to be a worthy challenger against Alabama as a freshman and sophomore. He’s a full-field reader who has shown a consistent ability to change plays and make smart pre- and post-snap decisions. Arm strength is a concern, and that concern may be exacerbated if his ball placement and timing aren’t more consistent. He’s an intelligent game-manager whose range is good backup to middling starter, but he will be scheme- and skill-position-needy at the next level.”

Kyle Crabbs, Draft Network: “Jake Fromm is a “what you see is what you get” quarterback prospect. Offenses in need of stability, consistent decision making and intelligent pre-snap work will be drawn to Fromm, but his physical tools will leave you wanting more and there’s an inherent lack of consistent killer instinct to play in attack mode as a passer. Fromm offers modest upside as a starting quarterback and would be best implemented in a WCO, where quick game and RAC can help to boost pass game productivity.”

WHAT PFF SAYS
